So clean you can see through your dog.
Dog too fat? It's time to turn to Pedigree light dog food!
Bad food results in a bad dog!
If you were to ask me to look for good advertising campaigns, one of the very last categories I would look into are advertising for pet products. People don't usually put much effort into such campaigns. It is a given that if you have a pet (or pets), you would have to buy the necessary items for them anyway. No one really bothers about what the advertising tries to say or achieve.
I was very pleasantly surprised with these few dog food campaigns which I felt were also done in a very clever manner. Pet food advertising has usually been rather boring, unfortunately so these were a breath of fresh air. They work wonderfully by making you laugh and hence, making the humour memorable. I am glad the advertisers are not afraid to be cheeky as well as this breaks the mundane bland advertising wave in this sector.
I also enjoy how the advertisements play with subjects sometimes considered taboo in society.
"It's rude to talk about feces and whatnot."
"It's not nice to make fun of other people's sizes."
"You shouldn't take advantage of the disabled."
"Keep your pervert self to yourself."
They deal with all the topics in such a witty manner. The campaigns also appear in series that feel like they could have come out of a comic strip. I relish in photography and ideas that push boundaries. I hope to see the advertising industry in Australia, dealing with pet food or not, try more new angles and be a little more bold.
I feel that advertising playing a vital role in sales of a product. How serious a company does their branding for their product. These images for pet product are certainly eye-grabber. I know that most people wouldn't really care to look at pet food advertising. But i believe people would enjoy looking at images that's humorous and executed well.
