Sick of Simplicity? Let's Play

Bouquet Of Flowers – Dutch fashion model Sophie Vlaming is the new face of Turkish fashion label Atalar. Homegrown photographer Nihat Odabasi captures the blue-eyed stunner in a selection of Atalar’s spring/summer 2013 fashions selected by stylist Mert Aslan. Set against an eye-popping floral background, Vlaming dons a pastel palette full of ruffles, lace and breathtaking prints.

Love it or hate it, Photoshop continues to be the design software of choice for millions designers across the globe for a wide range of tasks, including photo editing.graphic design, typographyillustration, 3D modelling and animationFashion photography is a world of fantasy.  Fashion images are seldom, if ever, “realistic.”  More often than not, fashion photography is an expression of the photographer’s fantasy (or a combination of the fantasies of the creative team). It’s essential for retouching and creative effects and has also become an invaluable tool to help many photographers present fantasy. Personally, I do utilise Photoshop to achieve my creative vision and effects that I simply wouldn’t have the resources to create otherwise.  For this matter it has nothing to do with the endless controversy over photoshop abuse to create unrealistic body shape or skin tone, but a sense of design.

These photos look simply stunning. it's not hard to tell that the gorgeous model was shot on a pure white background where details on clothes are fully shown and little to no shadow was created on the ground/background. Just imagine these photos without the floral element, they would look nothing more than the lookbook style photos and hardly become a campaign. Overlaying the element with model intensionally bushed out roughly creates a whole different visual to display to the audience, the sense of spring and youthfulness strikes the eyeballs of passerby when Atalar successfully impresses their potential customers. I would say this is very smart. Simple, but not ordinary.

  1. I totally agree with you! This is a great campaign where they combine photography with conventional graphic styles to create something truly unique. I've always been a fan of mixed mediums and this was done well. Love the pop art feel.

  2. I couldn't agree more. This campaign is very lovely. It's a very great idea to combine graphic and photographs to create more appealing images, something more eye grabber. There will always be pros and cons about the usage of photoshop. I feel that photoshop is a vital tool in photoshop. As photographer creates images with the skills they have, photoshop will come in handy to make the images more stunning. Photoshop brought our imagination to reality.
